OnePlus launched its new Nord series smartphone OnePlus Nord 2 5G on Amazon at a price of ₹29,999 for 8GB RAM + 128GB ROM and 12 GB RAM + 256 GB ROM. This phone comes with a MediaTek Dimensity 1200-AI Octa-core processor and a 50MP 4K camera setup.

What is inside the Box?
First, we get the phone itself and after that get a quick guide and some other paperwork. We get a SIM ejector tool, a case, a 65W charger, and a red USB Type A to Type C cable. But got no 3.5mm dongle because this phone does not come with a 3.5mm headphone jack.
Body
From the back, OnePlus Nord 2 5G has a glass panel and finger resistance also, so that there is no issue of fingerprints on the backside of the phone. The side frame is made out of plastic. On the top side we secondary noise cancellation microphone. On the right side, we got an alert slider and a Power button. On the bottom side get Stereo Speakers, Type C port, main microphone, and SIM tray. We got only Dual Nano SIM slots because OnePlus Nord 2 does not support Micro SD cards. On the left side, we have volume buttons. Backside we have a Triple setup camera. The main camera is 50MP with Exmor-RS CMOS Sensor, 8MP ultra-wide, and 2MP mono camera. Font side we got a 32MP selfie camera.
Display
This phone comes with Corning Gorilla Glass v5, Fluid AMOLED, 6.43 inches display size. This is an FHD+ screen and it supports a 90Hz of refresh rate. The screen quality is pretty good and smooth. The colors are very good and vibrant.
Performance & OS
OnePlus Nord 2 is packed with MediaTek Dimensity 1200 AI chipset. But there is a catch, the performance of this phone’s MediaTek Dimensity 1200 AI is 5% to 10% slow. Maybe OnePlus customized it for better cooling and battery backup or to reduce the making cost. We don’t know about but it performs slightly under the main MediaTek Dimensity 1200 processor. This phone comes with Android 11 out of the box with Custom UI Oxygen OS. But we got no extra bloatware or anything like that except one Netflix app and OnePlus’s own apps. The UI is clean and smooth with no lag or anything.
Network
This phone supports dual nano-SIM with 5G. It has five 5G Bands. Finally, OnePlus gave more than 2 5G Bands in their Nord series phone. Before they were giving just 2 Bands which were not good for consumers and at above Rs. 20K price point.
Storage & Memory
OnePlus Nord 2 5G comes with 8GB RAM + 128GB ROM and 12GB RAM + 256GB ROM. RAM Type is LPDDR4X and the storage type is UFS 3.1 which is fast. This main website in India shows only 2 variants, but in Europe, it comes with 3 variants 6GB RAM + 128GB ROM. Maybe we get a 6GB variant in the near future.
Camera
This phone comes with a Triple camera setup. 50 MP Primary Camera with Sony Exmor-RS CMOS Sensor, 8 MP Ultra-Wide Angle Camera, 2 MP Mono Camera. The camera design is good and clean. The front-facing camera is a single 32 MP that can record 1080p video.
Battery
With the 4500 mAh battery capacity, you will get around 1 to 1.5 days easily. Maybe that is why OnePlus reduced the performance for battery backup. It supports Warp, 65W: 100 % in 30 minutes Quick Charging, which is pretty fast.
Final thoughts
At a price point of ₹29,999 for 8GB RAM + 128GB ROM is really good. The build quality and the specs of this phone are worth the price. You are also getting ₹1000 on the ICICI card. If you have the cash and want to spend it on the new smartphone you should really buy this one.
