Today Xiaomi launched its new Poco Series Poco F3 GT smartphone. It will be available for sale on Flipkart at ₹25,999. The specs of this smartphone are pretty good on paper.
Let’s talk about the phone
On the backside of the box, there are some main specs of this phone like Dimensity 1200 Processor, Smart AMOLED FHD+ Display, Dual Stereo Speakers powered by Dolby Atmos and 67W Fast Charger. The design of the phone looks like the Xiaomi Shark Phone.
What is inside the Box?
Inside the box first, we get some paperwork and Dongle for 3.5mm Audio jack to Type C, a Transparent Case. After that, we get the smartphone itself. This phone comes in 2 colour variants, Predator Black and Gunmetal Silver. We get the Yellow USB Type C cable which supports a 67W charge. The cable is actually a 6 amp cable, you have to use this cable for charging. And finally, the 67W massive brick of Power Adaptor type A to type C.
Body
Poco F3 GT comes with Gorilla Glass 5 on both the front and back sides. The back glass is not a finger magnet like other smartphones. On top, we have an IR blaster like other POCO phones, a noise-cancelling microphone and 1 dedicated vent stereo speaker. On the right side, we got 2 trigger holders specially made for gamers. On right mid, we have a power button and it is also a Fingerprint sensor. On the bottom, we have 2nd stereo speaker like on the top side speaker, type C port, secondary microphone and SIM tray. On the left side, we have 3rd microphone. So the call quality should be really good.
Display
Poco F3 GT comes with 6.67 inches of an AMOLED screen. Xiaomi calls it a smart AMOLED screen. The quality of the screen is pretty good. The colours are very good and vibrant. It also has an always-on display, but you have to enable it in the settings. Xiaomi puts an extra feature on the screen that is called Anti-Flicker mode. It helps in your gaming and also for a smooth AMOLED screen experience. The screen supports a 120Hz refresh rate, which is good for gaming.
Performance & OS
Performance on this phone is pretty good. It comes with MediaTek Dimensity 1200 Chipset which is a very good processor for daily usage and gaming also. This phone comes with the latest Android v11 and Custom MIUI. There is not much bloatware on this phone which is good. Because we see a lot of extra apps on Xiaomi phones.
Network
This phone supports dual nano-SIM. Poco claims, this is a 5G smartphone but it only supports two 5G bands, which means it is not fully a 5G phone.
Storage & Memory
Poco F3 GT comes with two storage variants 6GB RAM + 128Gb Storage and 8GB RAM + 256Gb Storage. RAM Type is LPDDR4X and the storage type is UFS 3.1 which is fast.
Camera
This phone comes with a Triple camera setup. 64 MP Wide-Angle Primary Camera, 8 MP Wide Angle, Ultra-Wide Angle Camera, 2 MP Macro Camera. The flash design is beautiful, it is like an electric icon (The Flash logo). The rear camera design is also good and it can video record 4K. The front-facing camera is a single 16 MP which can record 1080p video.
Battery
This phone has a 5065mAh battery, which can give you 1.5 days of normal usage of the phone. With 67W Quick Charging, you can charge it 100 % in 42 minutes.
Final Thoughts
This phone has solid specs and the Build Quality is also pretty good. At ₹25,999 this is a solid deal, but I have one issue with the marketing strategy which a lot of companies use these days. The phone supports 5G but only 2 Bands, which is not a 5G phone cuz 2 bands of the network means we get to a network issue. If you are trying to buy this as a 5G phone, please check other options like Realme Narzo 30 5G and much more. Other than that the build quality and the specs are very good on this phone. You can buy this as a solid mid-range phone and you will get more out of it.
