More allegedly leaked images of Lenovo’s GeForce RTX 4090 graphics cards for their Legion Pre-built gaming PC have surfaced. The new images show the front of the shield, which appears to be as huge as in the prior leak.
Earlier this week leaked Lenovo Legion GeForce RTX 4090 graphics card is a beast of a design. The card has a triple-slot design similar to the current RTX 3080 Ti and a single PCIe gen 5.0 connector. Lenovo has only released two other models that look similar to this card: the RTX 3090 Ti and the RX 6900 XT. This isn’t the RX 6900 XT because it has a red box around the edges, and we don’t think it’s the 3090 Ti because it doesn’t have the similar covering that Lenovo used in its older cards or the punch card gaps shown in these photos.
The new image displays the card alongside a Lenovo Legion Y9000K laptop. The laptop is about 14-inches long from side to side, and the Lenovo Legion GeForce RTX 4090 is about the same size (35-36cm) but much denser and bulkier, needing a lot of space just for the graphics card. This can be seen in the deployed image below, where the card has reached the maximum Length of the OEM case:
The card was seen inside the Lenovo Legion Gaming PC, and it has a triple-fan cooler that keeps pushing air through to the heatsink. The heat spreader and backplate stretch further than PCB, allowing for a compact package in which the third fan primarily tries to push air out the small hole on the backplate.
The leaker also shared images of the heatsink on its own, which show a large cold plate that could be a vapor chamber and an insane number of heat pipes, at least 13 from the picture.
NVIDIA GeForce RTX 4090 ‘Expected’ Specifications
The NVIDIA GeForce RTX 4090 will employ 128 of the 144 SMs, totaling 16,384 CUDA cores. The GPU will have 96 MB of L2 cache and 384 ROPs, which is insane, but given that the RTX 4090 is a scaled-down layout, the L2 and ROP qualifications may be significantly lower. The clock speeds have not been revealed, but given that the TSMC 4N process is being used, we anticipate clock speeds in the 2.0-3.0 GHz range.
In terms of memory, the GeForce RTX 4090 is expected to have 24 GB GDDR6X capacities clocked at 21 Gbps across a 384-bit bus interaction. This can deliver up to 1 TB/s of a frequency band. This is the same bandwidth as the established RTX 3090 Ti graphics card, and in terms of power consumption, the TBP is said to be rated at 450W, implying that the TGP may be lower. The card will be driven by a single 16-pin connector capable of delivering up to 600W. As we saw with the RTX 3090 Ti, we can expect 500W+ custom designs.
Other than the RTX 4090, the NVIDIA GeForce RTX 40 series graphics cards, such as the RTX 4080 and RTX 4070, will be one of the first to be released to gamers. The RTX 4090 is scheduled to be released on October 22nd, but it will be unveiled at NVIDIA’s GTC keynote later this month. All distributors are preparing their GeForce RTX 4090 models, and many Gigabyte designs have already been publicly revealed and listed.
