According to the sources, the Ryzen 7 5800X3D might not be the only new Zen 3 part launching this month. Three more upcoming Ryzen 7 and Ryzen 5 CPUs will be set against the Intel Alder Lake mainstream lineup.
A few days ago, according to the sources that AMD was working on Zen 3 SKUs aside from the verified Ryzen 7 5800X3D part. The new CPUs are AMD’s answer to Intel’s current Alder Lake’s which is ruining the red team’s DIY market share which took several years to build up. With the upcoming products, AMD is hoping to keep some users from progressing to team blue before they can dispatch their correct answer to Intel’s advancement in the desktop segment, the Ryzen 7000 CPU family based on Zen 4 architecture.
Chiphell forums have already leaked these SKUs but we can confirm that it is true and they are indeed coming to the DIY/OEM segment soon.
According to the sources, AMD is planning to launch three new SKUs, the first one is the Ryzen 7 5700X. This CPU will be placed against the Core i5-12600K and will be coming equivalent pricing at around $279-$299 US. The Ryzen 7 5700X is expected to feature 8 cores, 16 threads but with a TDP of 65W vs the 105W TDP on Ryzen 7 5800X. For the cooling, the Ryzen 7 5700X will also come with the Wraith Stealth cooler and is said to offer little better clock optimizations than the 5800X. If the price is close to $299 which even happens to be the MSRP of the current Ryzen 5 5600X, this would mean a permanent cost reduction for the 6 core variant which has already been discounted across different retail platforms along with its brethren.
The other two CPUs that are released along with Ryzen 7 5700x was AMD Ryzen 5000 CPU family are the Ryzen 5 5600 & Ryzen 5 5500. With 6 cores both chips have a 65W TDP. The Non-X design indicates that they aren’t going to get the higher-binned design like the 5600X but will be delivering very similar core performance. These chips will be set against the Core i5-12400 and Core i3-12100 SKUs with comparable price points. One thing which we weren’t able to verify, is whether Ryzen 5 5500 supports SMT or not. It is possible that this chip could be restricted to 6 cores & 6 threads.
Later this month AMD is expected to launch its newest additions in the Ryzen 5000 Desktop CPU family. Stay tuned for more information about the Ryzen 7 5800X3D which is also expected to hit shelves in a few weeks.
