Newest NVIDIA GeForce RTX 2060 12 GB Graphics Card Featuring SUPER TU106 GPU

The GeForce RTX 2060 12 GB graphics card from NVIDIA is about to hit the market. According to reports, it will be available in two weeks, and Videocardz has detailed its specifications. The core configuration of the new RTX 2060 12 GB graphics card will be the same as that of the RTX 2060 SUPER. Apart from having the same configuration, it has a different memory configuration, according to the information that will be useful.

The Nvidia 2060 GeForce RTX 12 GB Graphics Card is powered by a SUPER Turing TU106 GPU with 2176 cores and a 184W TDP. The RTX 2060 was also released in 2019, with the 12 GB variant following two years later.

The card includes a SUPER variant as well as a few other market-specific variants. It appears that the 12 GB variant will be available globally. The reason given is that the RTX 3050 Ti and RTX 3050 appear to be underwhelming compared to the AMD RDNA 2 GPU lineup, and even more so when compared to the RTX 2060. It could be a case of the GTX 1050 being too underpowered and waiting for the Ti variant to improve its competitive positioning.

The RTX 2060 SUPER has the same GPU like the RTX 2060, but memory is the main difference. The NVIDIA GeForce RTX 2060 12 GB will be equipped with the TU106 GPU, manufactured on the 12nm process node and has 2176 CUDA cores, 136 Tensor C and 64 RT cores. The card will have a 192-bit bus rather than the full 256-bit bus found on the SUPER variant. This will allow the card to support 12 GB of GDDR6 memory at 14 Gbps pin speeds, for a total bandwidth of 336 GB/s. It will also have the same TDP of 184W as the RTX 2060 SUPER variant.

However, the NVIDIA GeForce RTX 2060 12 GB graphics cards will cost around $300 US. This is the actual retail price, not the manufacturer’s suggested retail price. The AMD Radeon RX 6600 Non-XT currently has an MSRP of $329 US, but actual prices range between $400 and $500 US. The RTX 3060 12 GB has an MSRP of $329 US but costs more than $500 US. So, for $150-$200 less in the United States, the GeForce RTX 2060 12 GB may make sense, especially if it ends up offering performance somewhere between the RX 5600 XT and RX 5700.

The new GeForce RTX 2060 may compete with AMD’s even more entry-level RDNA 2 lineup, primarily their Navi 24 GPUs, but that’s all speculation for now. Until NVIDIA’s GeForce RTX 3050 series is released, the card will be an intermediate solution for the entry-level segment. The NVIDIA GeForce RTX 2060 12 GB is expected to be released on December 7th, the same day as its predecessor. What is your opinion about Nvidia newest graphics card? Write down in the comment.
