As we await more information on the Ryzen 7000X3D series later in the month, Intel and their partner organizations are incorporating some intriguing price reductions. So far, only MicroCenter has reduced K-series pricing, although there are fairly small discounts for other CPUs too.

Microcenter slashes prices on Intel’s 13th Generation Raptor Lake CPUs ahead of AMD’s Ryzen 7000 X3D launch.

Intel 13th Gen CPU Prices dropped by Microcenter: Core i9-13900K For $530US, Core i7-13700K For $330 US, Core i5-13600K For $250 US

While Intel has rejected any price reductions on its older 12th Gen Alder Lake CPUs, some stores have begun trying to diminish the 13th Gen Raptor Lake offerings in anticipation of AMD’s Ryzen 7000 X3D release at the end of the month. The three unlocked “K” processors are among the price cuts.

To begin with, the Intel Core i9-13900K, which has an RCP of $599 US, has now become available for $529.99 US, a $70 US savings. The Core i7-13700K CPU has an RRP of $419.99 US and is now available for $329.99 US, a $90 US savings, and the i5-13600K is now available for $249.99 US, an $80 US savings from its RRP of $329.99 US. All three CPUs are easily accessible for purchase at Microcenter, but keep in mind that they are only available for in-store pickup.

  • Intel Core i9-13900K CPU – $529.99 USD (Microcenter)
  • Core i7-13700K 16 Core CPU – $329.99 USD (Microcenter)
  • Core i5-13600K 14 Core CPU – $249.99 USD (Microcenter)

Please keep in mind that these are not actual price reductions by Microcenter special offers. One could interpret this as a response to AMD’s Ryzen 7000 X3D CPUs, which will be available before the end of this month, but if Intel truly intended to set such rates as a marketable move, we would have seen them throughout multiple retailers, which isn’t the case here. This is not to say that the other retail stores will not join Microcenter’s lead and provide their own special offers, although we haven’t seen several more offers from the rest of the marketplace so far.

Having said that, lower costs on 13th Gen Raptor Lake CPUs will be welcomed, even if they aren’t provided by Intel. The Ryzen 7000 X3D CPUs are appealing to gamers, and the recent Ryzen 7000 Non-X chips have been well earned because of their high efficiency and effective measure to the “X” series parts. Intel will not have any additional choices until the end of 2023, once they organize to release their updated Raptor Lake lineup.
