The first gaming benchmarks of AMD’s Ryzen 7 5800X3D CPU have been revealed and it shows impressive 3D V-Cache performance in Gaming Benchmark.

The benchmarks were published by XanxoGaming and CapFrameX who are currently testing the chip across different workloads and uncovering when it comes to gaming where it ticks. As always, while the latest 3D V-Cache CPU doesn’t impress a lot in typical workloads, its gaming performance includes an average 15% boost over the non-3D chips. The AMD Ryzen 7 5800X3D CPU is now being tested in Shadow of The Tomb Raider.

The performance was tested at 720p Ultra Settings using the AMD Ryzen 7 5800X3D on an X570 motherboard with an Nvidia RTX 3080 Ti graphics card and compared to an Intel Core i9-12900K running on a DDR4 platform with Nvidia RTX 3090 Ti graphics card. It looks like a custom scene was used rather than the in-game benchmark because the Core i9-12900KS was also run on the same configuration.

In terms of gaming performance, the AMD Ryzen 7 5800X3D achieved an average of 231 FPS which is a 21.58% boost over the Core i9-12900K and a 15.5% boost over the Core i9-12900KS 5.5 GHz CPU.

These are indeed very impressive numbers but we have to remember that the location here is a very CPU and memory-bound scenario and the extra 3D V-Cache really helps boost the numbers up. For normal gamers, gaming at 720p resolution is not a real-world use case but this resolution is just used to show the CPU-specific performance. At 1080p and beyond, the differences will be much lower so please wait for more accurate tests and reviews which will be published on youtube and other tech platforms in a few days.

The AMD Ryzen 7 5800X3D is packed with 8 cores, 16 threads, and 100 MB of integrated cache thanks to its extra 64 MB 3D Stacked SRAM design. The base clock speed of the CPU will be 3.4 GHz and the boost clock speed is 4.5 GHz with a TDP of 105W. When it launched, it has the same MSRP of $449 US as the Ryzen 7 5800X and will be available starting the 20th of April.
