Enthusiast Citizen has revealed a new rumor about AMD’s next-generation Radeon RX 7000 graphics cards based on the RDNA 3 GPU architecture. The leaker, previously highly accurate with his leaks, claims that AMD would release two flagship models in December and even revealed some performance estimates.

AMD To Launch Two Radeon RX 7000 Graphics Cards In December, Overall Performance Falls Short In Ray Tracing & Rasterization Vs. NVIDIA’s RTX 40 GPUs, Alleges Rumor

According to Enthusiast Citizen, AMD will formally launch its RDNA 3 series of graphics cards on November 3rd under the Radeon RX 7000 name. The red team has already made this public. The market debut of these graphics cards will take place in December, roughly a month later than expected, given that AMD’s Ryzen 7000 CPUs were officially unveiled in late August but didn’t make a market launch until the end of September.

According to the leaker, we will get two Radeon RX 7000 flagship graphics cards dubbed “first flagship” and “second flagship.” It is unclear whether this refers to the Navi 31 and Navi 32 dies or two variations of the Navi 31 GPU. These GPUs will employ an MCM design and TSMC’s 5nm process node.

Enthusiast Citizen further goes on to state the performance of the AMD Radeon RX 70000 with the RDNA 3 graphics architecture. In terms of ray tracing and rasterization performance, the AMD line may have a hard time competing against NVIDIA’s recently introduced GeForce RTX 40 series cards and especially the top RTX 4090, which offers anywhere from 50 to 100% improvement in standard rasterized workloads and further pushes the performance envelope in ray tracing and DLSS titles. AMD may not be as confident in pricing their Radeon lineup as they are with the Ryzen lineup.

While the leaker has an excellent track record, we should take this information with a grain of salt until AMD releases an official report. It’s possible that the performance estimates provided here are based on early samples or early drivers; this isn’t the first time this has happened.

AMD has stated that their RDNA 3 GPUs will be available in November with significant performance improvements. According to David Wang, the company’s Senior Vice President of Engineering, Radeon Technologies Group, the next-generation GPUs for the Radeon RX 7000 series will offer a 50% performance per watt boost over the existing RDNA 2 GPUs. AMD will present some of the essential characteristics of the RDNA 3 GPUs.

  • Advanced Chiplet Packaging on a 5nm Process Node
  • Redesigned Compute Unit
  • Graphics Pipeline Optimization
  • AMD Infinity Cache (Next Generation)
  • Ray Tracing Capabilities Improved
  • Superior Adaptive Power Management
  • >50% performance/wattage compared to RDNA 2

The AMD Radeon RX 7000 “RDNA 3” GPU series, based on the Nav 3x GPUs, is set to be unveiled on November 3rd, and bespoke variants will be disclosed on the same day. Several undisclosed AMD Radeon RX 7000 series cards were recently featured in the Enermax PSU power calculator, which may or may not hints at the future lineup.
